動物福利越來越受到圈養者及大眾的重視，對於圈養照護者而言如何讓圈養動物擁有合適環境及妥善照顧是一個很重要的議題，一般在評估圈養動物其動物福利時，通常會運用行為觀察及血液測量皮質醇以了解其壓力指數，除此之外聲學活動也是一項作為評估動物狀態的參考依據，本研究將透過環境、生理、行為異常作為評估，環境異常又分為環境聲音異常、夜宿之有無、水溫異常以及水位異常來分析，而生理異常則分為外傷及生病這兩部分，將透過這些不同的環境及身體變化來分析國立海洋生物博物館之三頭白鯨(Delphinapterus leucas)的發聲，以達到了解其環境設施及身體保健之合適度來提升其動物福利。
