Shelf life of the ink beyond the recommended 2 years from manufacture date is largely depending on how much heat it is exposed to. If always stored cool room (below 20c) it may be ok for another year or so. For example I often use old ink in my own Roland printer in Osaka that is sometime 4-5 years old without any problems, but I accept the risk myself.

If you want to use old ink (at your own risk) I would recommend you to monitor its performance closely when first putting into the printer. If the operator notice any abnormal function the remove immediately and replace with fresh batch.

There is nothing you can do to “Renew” the ink. That is totally not possible.
