The new version was produced using original drawings kept in the Gio Ponti Archives and the art direction for the Gio Ponti Collection came from Studio Cerri & Associati.The elmwood frame rests on satin brass feet.<br><br>The D.655.1 / D.655.2 chest of drawers, redesigned on the original drawings by Giò Ponti in 1952/55, became part of the collections signed by the renowned Italian furniture brand Molteni&C in 2012.<br>Characterized by an original and unconventional design, this piece of furniture is able to give a touch of fantasy to the room and to revive the colors thanks to the characteristic front with a checkerboard pattern. The latter, in fact, consists of white hand-painted drawers with handles covered in different essences, such as elm, Italian walnut, mahogany and rosewood, that alternate each other and give movement to the static nature of the figure.<br>The chest of drawers, available in two different sizes, features a structure in elm, which is supported by high satin-finish brass feet with a particular V shape, contributing to make it a unique and inimitable design object.
