Most of the province's forests and mountains are high, especially in the north and west of the province. Although Kanchanaburi has an area adjacent to Tak province on the north side, there are no roads connected because there is a wildlife sanctuary, Thung Yai Naresuan, a World Heritage Site and a rich forest with intricate mountains.<br>The topography of Kanchanaburi province can be divided into 3 types as follows:<br><br>1. Mountain and high area Areas on the north side of the province include Sangkhla Buri District, Thong Pha Phum District, Si Sawat District, and Yai Sai Yok district. It is a mountain range from the Thong Chai Road mountain range next to the west side of the province. The Tanasri Mountains, which border thailand and Burma, stretch to the south. This area is the main source of the province's upstream, the Kwai Yai River and the Kwai Noi River, which are frequently sledging and earthquakes in the area.<br>2. Corrugated Plains is the northeast area of the province. It is located at the foot of the hill, interspersed with low hills, located in Lao Khwan District, Bo Ploy district, and parts of Phanom Thuan district.<br>3. The basin plain area is the southern part of the province. The land is abundant in Tha Maka, Tha Muang District and parts of Phanom Thuan district, Mueang Kanchanaburi District.
