This research has both theoretical and practical implications. First of all, this research provides additional empirical evidence in the construction industry for relationship between EI and CMSs, as well as CMSs and individual innovation performance. Our research also provides empirical evidence that EI is positively associated with innovation performance, adding to the overall body of knowledge relating to EI and innovation performance. Employees with higher levels of EI are highly recommended, for such individuals are likely to manage conflict appropriately, solve problems effectively and bring about higher levels of innovation performance. Moreover, the mediating role of integrating style on EI and innovation performance has lacked attention before. This research helps us further understand how EI influence individual innovation performance, shedding light on the innovation theory and conflict management literature.
